So it's been some months since the last time I posted here. The last post mentioned mentioned how Christopher Golden had been nominated for a Bram Stoker Award for his story in my anthology, What the #@&% is That? So I guess it's somewhat fitting that all these months later I am posting that "Little Widow" by Maria Davhana Headley--a story she originally wrote for the same anthology--has been nominated for a World Fantasy Award in the category of Best Short Fiction.
I coedited this anthology with John Joseph Adams, and after securing Maria's consent, we agreed to publish this story in his online magazine, Nightmare Magazine, in advance of the anthology to help promote the book. Since Nightmare technically published the story first, they are being credited as the publisher of origin, but being as the story was solicted for my anthology and that John and I coedited this piece together, I am still taking the appropriate editorial pride in seeing this story earn such a prestigious nomination. You can read the story here (and also find links to the original anthology it was written for).
A full listing of this year's World Fantasy nominees can be found here.
